When a web hosting provider is willing to host what most others wont allow, it may at first seem appealing to a potential customer, especially if the service offered is quite affordable too but its worth keeping in mind that any provider hosting illegal content and other services are already willing to take chances and so to choose them is opening yourself up to potential risk.

If they are providing shared web hosting services, even though you may not be providing illegal content from your site you may be sharing a server with a website that provides warez or other services that are illegal in most countries and that other website could get its IP blacklisted, whether this could affect your website would need other things taken into consideration but theres always the chance that it could and you dont want your website suffering because of what someone else is doing.

A web hosting provider may not advertise themselves exclusively as a host for warez, illegal adult content or something else but may subtly hint that its ok with them.

How some of them are able to do this is by using offshore hosting, not using servers in countries where laws prohibit illegal content or at least using them in countries where theres less control over these types of services.

Because a hosting provider may allow allsorts of illegal usage then this can include nulled scripts and this can put a server in danger of being hacked too easily, theres room for exploits and the provider is allowing illegal use of scripts and potentially opening up the server to being attacked easily and putting other websites at risk.

One way of looking at it is if your web hosting provider cannot be responsible in the type of service that they provide then how can you trust them?

You are taking a chance by uploading your own website files, scripts, adding your payment details and anything else and if they are willing to break the law and you are aware of this and still choose to use their services then you’re taking too much of a risk too.

Instead keep your websites and yourself safe by using a reputable provider that refuses to host illegal contents and services, fortunately theres so many web hosting providers out there that theres always an alternative to using a shady web hosting company.
