Creating Addon Domains in cPanel
If your hosting account has cPanel and also allows you to host multiple domains on the one account then you will want to know how to set them up so that you can make the most of your hosting account and get those websites up and running.
Its not difficult and doesn’t take long at all, so lets get straight to it and get those Addon domains setup.
First you need to login to cPanel and find the Addon Domains icon or link and click on either to take you to the next page called “Addon Domain Maintenance” you should see three input fields labelled New Domain Name, Username and Password.
Enter the full domain name, and a chosen username and password for that domain then click Add Domain and you should see a message to let you know that you have been successful in creating the directory for the addon domain.
What happens is that it creates a subdirectory so that the website files are all kept in a directory within your account specifically for that domain.
To add more domains you just repeat the process for each domain that you would like to setup a website for within your account and using a different username and password for each addon domain.
Simple and quick isn’t it
now you can make the most of hosting multiple websites within your hosting account.
