Your blogs have an area for comments.  The more positive comments that you get the more your blog is useful to you.  The good comments get noticed by those searching online.  The keywords the comments use also help you get the blog noticed by search engines.  Unfortunately negative and spam comments can damage your search engine optimisation work.  If you do not police your spam comments you should start.

Google will penalise you with the page rank if you have left spam comments on your blog.  The downside of comments is that the do follow blogs that provide you links are a target for spam comments.  Often the do follow blogs have higher page ranks.  So you have to make sure that each day or every other day you go through your blogs.  Make sure to remove the spam comments.  You may also want to remove negative comments.  A few negative comments are okay as that is more real, but you do not want to have too many.  Get your friends to comment on your blog as well.  This will help increase your page rank.  However, if your friends help make sure they do not overly populate the blogs with comments or keywords as this can harm you as well.
