Unexpected Extra Resources After Signing Up With A Web Host

Sometimes a web host will actually be offering slightly more with a hosting plan than they are actually advertising on the site.

They may have updated the amount of available space or bandwidth or allow for more addon domains than the plan states, you sometimes end up finding out about this after you have signed up and discover that there is a little extra within the plan than you had at first expected.

A very pleasant suprise of course and in many cases its probably just a case that the web hosting company has not updated the plan features on their actual website yet to match an upgrade that they have recently made to their plans.

Ive experienced this myself and its nice when you sign up with a new webhost to find that the package is a bit bigger than advertised and allows for more domains, databases or space than you expected.

Switching To A New Web Host Slowly

If your a webmaster that has quite a few websites and have found an alternative web host to place all or some of your websites then you might be tempted to quickly move them all over to the new web host that you have decided to go with.

You may have good reason for this and may be fed up with problems at another host that made you start looking around for an alternative in the first place.

But no matter how good a different web host may seem and how many good reviews they may have, you may want to just dip your toe in the water first to see how things go with the alternative web host that you have chosen to use.

You might for example have 10 websites and plan to move all 10 websites over very quickly to the other hosting company, but if the place that you move to also disappoints you then your again having to shift those 10 sites onwards again.

Try moving a couple to the web host at first, give it a little time, then if things seem good then you can think about moving the remaining websites over that you may have.

An exception can be made of course if your current web host is so terrible that you simply must move away from them soon and with all of your websites, but in cases where you are not desperate to move but rather looking for better hosting and are able to make the move slowly then this is a good choice to make.

Slow and steady until you see how things go.
